Happy New Year Everyone !

With all the holidays behind us, we finally have time to do some of those projects we have put on the bottom of the pile for months.
I say we and us because I am just like you, I have lots of ideas for the new year. If you need an idea, see the pictures below. They are all patterns from my company, Quilting Bee Designs.

Last week I was honored to have been asked, by a new Quilt Shop, "Cherry Berry Quilts" in Calamesa, CA, to be the featured artist during a three day shop hop. More than 300 Quilters stopped by my display and admired, visited, and bought my Redwork patterns and CDs. A wonderful way to spend a few days.
Now that Fall is here, Quilters are beginning to think about something new to do when it is cold outside, maybe making their Christmas gifts early, doing a new project, learning a new method or technique. If you have not done Redwork before, look on my website, www.quiltingbeedesigns.com and choose a pattern. Redwork is simple, just follow the lines with a stem stitch. Or, if you think you need more help than that, I have a DVD of instruction that comes with a free pattern and a booklet that has all the stitches.
If you are familar with my designs, but haven't looked on my website in a while, check out # 41, "Grandma's Thimbles", below. It has been so popular, I have already had to reorder more printed.

This morning it is raining. It has been so long I didn't know what it was! This will be a perfect day to get some of those sewing projects done, or at least, a little farther along.

I have so many partially done quilts and embroideries half done. where to start?

I have a Log Cabin king size with all the blocks half way sewn. I need to put on a few more logs to finish that.

Then there is the Delectable Mountains quilt. I made two last year and gave them both to Grandchildren. I want one for myself and I have all the fabrics picked out and ready. Should I do that one?

I have one block of a "P" alphabet block. That is a fun one to do, just pick your initial, do it on graph paper. Make it in 2" squares, ( 1 1/2 finished) = 16 squares. Make 4. Rotate to find a pleasing arrangement. Four of these would make a great pillow.

I have several half done Redwork peices that I used for class lessons. Should I finish those?

Maybe I should just clean up my sewing room?

Oh, look ! The rain has stopped !

Maybe I will go shopping !

I'm Back !!!

I am sorry that it has been so long since I updated this blog. I hope you have been keeping in touch through my website, www.quiltingbeedesigns.com. I have just been so busy. My husband has been ill ( he is getting better ), and we have had family here, the website is buzzing along, even when I am busy, and drawing the new patterns/kits for the Posy Collection, featuring the National Parks, have been filling the rest of my time. I think I have from 2 am to 3 am in the morning, not booked. Any suggestions for this hour?

During the next month my website will be redesigned and brought up to date with many exciting features. If it looks funny now and then, it is just because we are working on it, and it will be better soon. Keep in touch. You can also find me on Facebook and Twitter, and if you would like to be on my mailing list and receive my monthly newsletter, please sign up on my website.

That is all for now. Back to work. See you soon.

My Goodness !

Where did the time go ? I have been busy, and I have no other excuse. I forgot to update my blog. I did all the other updates, really !

I hope, if you landed here, you went to my website, http://www.quiltingbeedesigns.com,  or found me in some other way. I hope you will understand when I tell you that since I last posted, I have been really, really busy.

"The Posy Collection" contacted me about designing some exclusive Redwork patterns for the Historic Homes and National Parks. So far I have designed twenty eight with more to come. They are only available in the National Park Gift Shops, so when you go on a trip, be sure to look for them. The Posy Collection, http://www.theposycollection.com,  has been providing the National Park's Gift Shops with original Cross Stitch kits for over twenty years, and now they will have Redwork, too.

A few months ago I told you about my newest pattern, "Grandma's Thimbles". ( I have a large collection of antique thimbles, and I took the ideas for the embroidered thimble blocks from some of my antique silver thimbles. There are twelve 9" blocks.) It already is one of my biggest sellers.
Please go to my website, http://www.quiltingbeedesigns.com, and, in the pattern section you will see this new design.

Remember, if you love Redwork, my site has over 44 patterns for hand embroidery and many of them are also available on CDs for machine embroidery, too

If you would like to be on my newsletter list, there is a place on my website to sign up. I send newsletter out about once a month.

Keep on Stitching !
